Scale - The Skids

Bram Van Aarle - Friday, 30 July 2010, at 6:34 pm
Just got The best of the Skids The Saints are coming. Scale never heard that song. The guitars are great! In fact it sounds like a rock. A very young Stuart standing at the Bridge. He is staring into the camera. His hands in the pockets of a strange jacket. 1977's look. His guitars are making me cry. Innersleeve smoking a cigarette. The last picture a new Stuart has emerged. The one we know. The Skids were great. Big Country top! Melancholy Soldiers could have been a Big Country song as well. Have a nice weekend.

I often think Stuart's guitar was better with The Skids than with BC...................
btw, scared to dance is for me the best guitar sound by Stuart........!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, been listening to Scared to Dance a lot recently. The songs and playing are awesome and to think they were so young at the time. Such talent, pretty amazing really.

Loved Stuarts guitar playing with The Skids, for me The Absolute Game just shades Scared To Dance for the sheer beauty of guitar sound/work.

Thing about The Skids sound that is so amazing is that it's ALL Stuart.

"Thing about The Skids sound that is so amazing is that it's ALL Stuart." The Skids were a band like Big Country thanks to the efforts of four people and their management. So I think it is wrong to think The Skids were about Stuart alone. Of course his guitarsound was one of a kind but I like Richard Jobsons vocals mucht. Bass and Drum are ok. It was time to move on for Stuart and he did that with our love. It means so much for me. Since 1983 when the Crossing was released in Holland I fell in love. Sometimes I love the music so much my wife... HA-CHA! :-) You'll know what I mean.

I meant the Skids weren't twin guitar.

The Skids were as punk as Johnny Rottens band, I mean real punk. Into the Valley was at the front of the scene at that time. Ska-scar.
