| Can anyone tell me about a new exciting band? A really really really new band? Not the Gaslight Anthem they are great but I need a new band to fall in love with. Big Country? Well if they would do it again with Jamie it would be ok for me but it won't happen. So I need a second love besides Big Country Any suggestions? |

Hi Bram
Sorry, that was a bit 'me me me'!!! You could try Buckethead. I've only just discovered him. It's instrumental and very guitary - not to everyone's taste - but I think it's cool. Here's a link -

| Aberfeldy...good sounding band, just on verge of breaking big as many bands are, hard working band and in my opinion will make it.. |

I'll listen to the above myself this week.
From my viewpont,
Delorentos
The Twang
Bad Lieutenant (if you liked New Order)
One Night Only (bit young but decent sound as lead singer goes out with Emma Watson from Harry Potter fame). |

| I second the Mumford and Sons suggestion. I also think they would be the perfect band to cover a BC song, putting their own rockin' banjo twist to it! |

Editors (not particularly new, but brilliant - some songs even have a bc feel to them although the band deny any bc influences in their songs)
Saw them at Brighton and Brixton - well impressed!! |

| "I Blame Coco" . . . to me she has a cute face with nice body language. I've only heard two of her songs but she seems to know music. I can't even decide what genre she's from, but I like her. |

Brand X .... Jazz Infusion. Their music inspires me.
The albums worth checking out are: Unorthodox Behaviour, and Morrocan Roll.
Here's a clip of their song, Born Ugly from Unorthodox Behaviour. Great album!

Another band....
The Dirty Knobs - Mike Campbell's jam band.
Here's a clip of his music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYTfTeJYPHw
Behind Mike (to your left),is his Son, Darian. He's got his own band, Romeo Delta. Also worth checking out.
Cheers!

| Dear friends, I have to admit I was tempted and had a listen to some of the proposals. After a few attempt I gave it up. There is no place like home! In a Big Country fits me best. Sure, I like other bands like The Chameleons, Comsat Angels, The Church. They are my homeland and they fit in our Big Country. Sure all the things Mark, Bruce and Tony do have my full support. The Killers are ok just like Kings of Leon and some other recent bands. Can't help it. I have tried hard but the real thing is Big Country. I don't feel ashamed I am proud that I am one of a tribe called Young Guns Go for It! Even if I am on my own. Sometimes people say hello and they are welcome. Yes I am crazy in a way but who isn't? Braincancer changes someone and it takes a long time to discover all the imperfections. Discover and accept is a way to recover. Being positive is another. In a Big country dreams stay with you! Stay Alive and have a nice weekend. |

| Bram, cant agree more, although i have always been a huge meatloaf fan and seen him love many many times and acdc who have sold 200 million albums, also the foo fighters who i think are immense and i have travelled far and wide to see them, nothing, nobody and never any other band will move me like big country have done, they have been my all time favourite band since 1983 and will always remain so. |

Honourable mentions: At least one really good song.
Band of Horses-Is There A Ghost
Fleet Foxes-White Winter Hymnal
I say! Stick with the Manics as a surrogate band. Then make it count with whatever Bruce, Mark and Tony do collectively or individually.
Or come up screaming and make your own HD videos of every song you liked by B.C.! |
